My recommendation...

Use Openness to export a valid project that has the required device.  From there, you should see all the GSD device values and perhaps see what is wrong with your first few attempts.

If it's like some windows things, you may need to "escape" certain characters, like /.

In windows, I see that often looks like // for every / since the escape character is /.

 Below is an exaple of adding an GSD device into HW using Openness. Please advise me about correct format of the first string of taht Method.

I have tried  different approaches:
"GSD:130B1135\"
"GSD:130B1135\1.00"
"130B1135\"

 but always get message "No hardware object found with the Typeidentifier"

So you added a standard Siemens S120 using the GSD/GSDML method for adding a device into an existing port project, then exported the hardware details for that S120 drive (the control unit) and cannot find the PN name and PN address [ip]?

Search these forums for assigning PN IP to non-Siemens devices using Openness.  I think it has been covered at least a couple times.

Unfortunately, that's the extent of my openness knowledge to date.  I have been more of hack-and-make-it-work person rather than someone who really knows.

Thank you Einstein, investigating devices using "TIA Portal Openness Demo" was realy helpful.

Correct typeIdentifier which works for me is

"GSD:GSDML-V2.32-DANFOSS-FC-20171201.XML/DAP/DAP 1"

Later on I have found some dim explanation in documentation "TIAPortalOpeness_enUS_en-US"

Type identifier type: GSD
The type identifier for GSD and GSDML based devices isTypeIdentifier =GSD:<Identifier>

The identifier is composed by the following elements

•GsdName: name of the GSD or GSDML in uppercase letters

•GsdType: One of the following:

– D: Device

– R: Rack

– DAP: HeadModule

– M: Module

– SM: Submodule

•GsdId: ID of the GSD or GSDML

Now looking for way to assign IP address for an added GSDML device. Do not see IP nowhere in exported XML of "good reference device". Any suggestions?
