"Entire program" and "Changes only" compile modes give me different results for a running multiproject

T41 Posts: 88 Rating: (1)	Hi all, I think it's better to open a new thread for my question regarding to CFC charts compilation results in different modes "Entire program" and "Changes only". Conditions: The system is running on site. I copied the achived multiproject from site PC and wanted to do some modifications on the existing multiproject.. Differences between my laptop and site PC: I think the only difference between my laptop and site PC from software side is: PCS7 V7.0 Step7 V5.4 on my laptop(install from the CDs on site). PCS7 V7.0 Step7 V5.4 SP3 on site PC.( Not confirmedyet, but from the project property it said the program was produced by Step7 V5.4 SP3.) No other hardwares are connected to my laptop. (My laptop is just stand alone.) Actions: Retrieved the multiproject to my laptop without any change. Compiling theproject CFC charts with "Changes only" mode is successful without error. And "Changes only" mode is default selected. CBo Gold Member Joined: 4/5/2006 Last visit: 10/10/2024 Posts: 917 Rating: (63)	Hi T41, the difference are you talking about is not regarding Step7 only, but PCS7 version too With what are SIMATIC PCS 7 V7.x, V 6.x, V5.x and V4.x compatible? i guess you are usdin PCS7 v7.0 on yout lappie and PCS7 v7.0 SP1 on the plant... maybbe is for that you are getting error with complete compiling regards

Danielle Posts: 1275 Rating: (123)	Hello, As CBo said you must have different PCS 7 versions. PCS 7 must be installed from the DVD's, which is the only way to make sure the package will be properly installed. Each version of PCS 7 uses a certain version of Step7. If the version of Step7 is different in the stations, this means that the PCS 7 version is also different. From what you said your laptop has an older version, so you're trying to run an application created in a newer version in it. Functions, blocks, properties and other may have been updated in the new version, which causes the older version not to recognize some things. You must always use the same PCS 7 version in all ES and OS stations within a project. So to get your notebook to be able to work with this application you should install the same version that's running on the plant in it. Best regards, Danielle

T41 Posts: 88 Rating: (1)	Both of you are right! AfterI installed PCS7 V5.4 SP3 on my laptop(before it is PCS7 V5.4 only), compilation CFC charts is ok without error only with some warnings. But it taked long long time, 1 hour I guess. Somebody must upgrade the PCS7 on the ES as the installation CD from site is only PCS7 V5.4 Thanks! T41
