RPM vs. mm/s

Since i've began to work with Simotion, i can't get answer for this - how speed of the drive measured in rpm for example is converted to linear scaling? Can anybody help me with this problem? Looking forward to hearing from you, Andrew.

When you define how many revs of the physical (i.e. motor) axis result in how many revs of the output shaft (i.e. is there a gearbox) and then how many revs of the output shaft translates into distance of the external axis. Please note as well that when you 'Add an axis' there is a selection for your rotary or linear and if the values that go with each of these selections (mm/s or rads/sec or degrees/min etc) Cheers Stuart

At last the formula should be like this (encoder mounted on motor side, motor revs/enc revs = 1) v = (n * pi * d) / (60 * i) = (n * Dist. per spindle rev.) / (60 * Number of motor revs / Num of load revs) where: n - drive speed [RPM] d - diameter[mm]
