sudden out value in modular PID contol functions

SRV Posts: 22 Rating: (0)	Hi In a level control with modular PID contol ,I used rate limiter function to reduce bad effects of setpoint change by operators but they still complain about sudden opening of valves when changing mode of controller fom auto to manual and vice versa. Thank you

hdhosseini Diamond Expert Joined: 1/28/2009 Last visit: 12/29/2025 Posts: 6889 Rating: (1368)	Dear member Why not using LMNGEN_C function which is intended to reduce effect of manual-automatic switchover.Check section 2.1.13 ( LMNGEN_C: Output Continuous PID Controller) of THIS manual for more information and also attachment for a sample configuration. The block includes the manual-automatic switchover. In the manual mode, you can specify an absolute value or increase or reduce the value with switches. The manipulated value and the rate of change of the manipulated value can be restricted to selectable limits. The block is always used in conjunction with the PID algorithm block. hope this helps and inform if not. regards Attachment LMN.zip (304 Downloads)
