S7 Graph sources problems

I have a project in wichi have used severalPLC's and each PLC contains severalS7 Graph sequencers,because i just copied and pasted the Graph sequencers froma"X" PLC to other (to save time because the sequencers are simillar eachother) i just corrupt the proagent diagnostics of the complete project (before this i did not know the right way to export S7 Graph sequencers by means of the source generation tool). Now i have to rebuild my complete project from 0% (to be honest i have already done it with other 2 projects before this), but in this project i'm having some problems to generate the source files for S7 Graph sequencers. I'm attaching one of the sources for one of the sequencers (FB180), when i try to open this source (the same with the others)S7 Graph softwareshows me theerrors 28:20 (Please se attached files). It is important to mention that i have the original Sequencer (FB180), and that this is working god right now in the lines i'm commisioning. I have exported the source files to other projects, and also i have copied the FB180 to a clean projectand the result is the same . If some of you dear colleagues can take a loock to my source file,perhaps you can give a tip to knowwhat should ido in order to be able to open it, and then compile it. It's been a couple of days since i started this thread, and i can say i found a possible solution for my problem, but i will like to know from your experience if this is the less time consuming solution or if there is another faster way to resolve it. My solution is to take sequencer FB180 (in the "Old project"),and then create a new "Empty" source, after that i will just copy the contents of FB 180 into the new source (let's make the source name FB180V0.2.GR7) and for this source i will select FB280 instead FB180 as block number. Then i will just Export FB180V0.2.GR7 to my "New project", and before compile it i will change the blocknumber to FB180 again. And thats alll. Since this is a procedure that should be repeated for 10 PLC's each with 3 sequencers at least,well there is a lot of work to do, so i will like to know if in your experience there is another better wayto do this? fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 9/10/2025 Posts: 3049 Rating: (1062)	Hello TEBANCH not too sure how much this going to help you, but your source file opens up ok for me (I tried both ways, insert as "External Source" and open it as well as insert a"Graph Source" and then openthe source file from it). The only problem I have is that the used addresses are unknown which is expected though (I don't have the DB's nor teh symbolic declaration for the used I/Q/M bits in it). Attached is a screen dump of what I'm getting and my software versions are Step 7 V5.5 & S7 Graph V5.3 SP6. Have you tried to open it with a different PC (perhaps something is wrong with your Step 7 or Graph version)? Attachment S7Graph FB180.jpg (412 Downloads)

Thanks a lot for your post, it gives me more ideas to find out what is the posible cause for this issue. I forgot to mention that when i try to open my "Corrupt" source files, the S7 Graph editor tryes to open FB0, even when i change the FB number in the original FB. If the FB sequencers were builded in another computer with diferent version of S7 Graph, then perhaps this is te cause of the issue? (let's suppose that my version of S7 graph is newer than my colleagues version or the opposite case). BTW, my version is 5.3 plus SP2. Once again thanks a lot for your help, and have a very nice day .

Questions: 1.) Does the graph source fiel opens ok in a new S7 project on the same PC on which it was created? 2.) Have you tried to do a source file export with address priority instead of symbol priority (go to "Options" -> "Application settings" in S7Graph to change this) 3.) As you current S7 Graph source file is symbol based, do you have all the symbolic entries in your symbol table? (I initially got an "the symbolic name is incorrect" error when trying to open the source and had to add FB180 with symbolic name "FBControlStop" to the symol table).. I hope this helps and let us know what you find out.

I can not test it, at this moment i'm at my customer plant at the US, and thePC belongs to a contractor that used to work for us in Mexico . 2.) Have you tried to do a source file export with address priority instead of symbol priority (go to "Options" -> "Application settings" in S7Graph to change this). I did this test, and the result is the same (thanks for the advise) . 3.) As you current S7 Graph source file is symbol based, do you have all the symbolic entries in your symbol table? (I initially got an "the symbolic name is incorrect" error when trying to open the source and had to add FB180 with symbolic name "FBControlStop" to the symol table).. Yes, i have all symbol declared in my symboltable for that project; when i was migrating the blocks i take care of export the symbol table to. Well, looks likemy software is corrupt ormaybe there is a versions conflict; anyway withthe procedure described before i was able to finish the job, but it takes me toomuch time. Once again thanks a lot for your help, and have a very nice day .
