PLCSIM external communication

Dolf Experienced Member Joined: 12/18/2006 Last visit: 9/2/2025 Posts: 21 Rating: (2)	I make a test project on my desk with 2 PLC’s on Profinet and test PUT and GET communication. This works fine. Then I try to test it with PLCSIM. But I looks like the there is no external communication possible between PLCSIM1 and PLCSIM2. Also I cannot ping the PLCSIM from my PG. Dolf. fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 9/14/2025 Posts: 3049 Rating: (1062)	Hello Dolf PLCSIM supports only the SFB versions of GET and PUT (which are used in S7-400's) but NOT the FB versions (which are used in S7-300's and "wrap" extra code around the GET/PUT SFB's). As PLCSIM does NOT know (nor care) that you use S7-300's, the only way to simulate the comms in your case is to replace the FB 14/15 with SFB14/15 calls in your program and more can be foundat the link below: How do you simulate communication between two CPU modules?
