regeneration ac drives

Ziemens Silver Member Joined: 3/2/2007 Last visit: 9/9/2025 Posts: 990 Rating: (5)	Hy, i need ac drives for 250 kw ac motors, with possibility of regeneration. I did not find such items in the micromaster or the g120 or the g130 families. Does Siemens have such drives? Thank you

This will show three specific product groups which offer regeneration back onto input line rather than to a braking resistor. SINAMICS S120 product is a modular product where a smart line module or and active line module is the infeed section component which can direct regenerative power back to incoming line. The above mentioned line module provides a common dc bus which provides power to one or multiple motor modules, which provides the necessary power to operate each individual motor. This product would be integrated into an enclosure by customer along with customer's other electrical products for entire system. SINAMICS S120 Cabinet Modules are similar product to above, butthe product is highlyengineered and standardized to optimize smallest footprint possible. Siemens would supply the drive product similar to aboveconsisting of line module, motor module(s), controllers, etc. already integrated into an enclosure. The SINAMICS S150 is drive product which is also integrated into an enclosure, but this product is most often used when a single variable frequency drive for a single motoris needed for a typically range of high power motor such as 150 - 1250 Hp. First, I have to reduce the cost, as it is a v/f application for fans and unwinds. Second, the motors are installed at far locations, so it is not possible to use common dc bus. Thank you anyway.

Technically from your description of not being possible to utilize dc common bus, you could use SINAMICS S150 (especially if regeneration to incoming line is desired) as it is designed for single drive applications either for a single motor application or a multi-motor application. This SINAMICS S150 would also be capable of supportinglong cable lengths. Deputy
