Hello, I have searched through the forum, manuals and the internet for this answer and have made it a little ways but I'm stuck. On an 840Di I'm trying to create a user prompt window called from the G-code that will allow the operator to select which fixture they are using. From there a series of IF statements would cause the correct "corrections" to be made for positioning etc. to make a good part. What I've gathered from my searches is that this would be done using the MMC command. What I've written using the manual examples as a go by has resulted in syntax errors. It would error on "FIXTURE, so I thought maybe the quotation mark is wrong and deleted it. That made it skip the fixture variable and moved on to error on the HDR1" variable so I deleted that quotation. On until there were no quotation marks when it threw and error for CYCLES. I couldn't think of anything to do at that point. Just to see if the MMC command does anything I entered MMC in the MDA window and executed. The machine locked up so tight we had to reset it so I know something is there. I've attached the .COM file, .BMP file, the simplified NC code and the .DEF file for digging into. I am not an operator or technician but rather an engineer trying to reduce operator manual modification of programs and thought this could be a fantastic solution as well as good for other problems. Thank you for your time, Aaronious AttachmentMMC_Trial.zip (227 Downloads) |
