IPC with Windows Server 2003

edsel lin Experienced Member Joined: 5/17/2010 Last visit: 2/21/2022 Posts: 80 Rating: (1)	Hi, I want to add PCS7 v7.1 with CAS. From the requirement, it needs Windows Server 2003. Are there any IPC with Windows Server 2003 still available? IPC 547C is no longer available, isn't it?

Hi,

As per the latest information i have Siemens have the following:-

1) Simatic IPC 647C ( Rack): Supports Windows Server 2003 incl. 5 clients, 32bit, SP2.

MLFB/ Type no would be:

Valli Posts: 262 Rating: (45)	Hi, I suggest to take this as a deviation point as in any case Windows 2003 is very old and can easily be upgraded to R2 with the help of microsoft people. refer the below link. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/912309. IPC will be loaded with WINDOW 2003 R2 only or WINDOWS Server 2008 etc...

I have experienced with WinCC using Windows Server 2008 R1, and it's not compatible must downgrade to Windows Server 2008. I'm afraid that this will happen to PCS7 also, that's why I still search for Srver 2003.
