S7 300/Tia V12- OBs

miami Platinum Expert Joined: 8/31/2005 Last visit: 11/13/2024 Posts: 2198 Rating: (328)	If a CPU is in STOP no OB is called. There is no way to start a CPU without using the switch on the CPU or a PG/PC. You may use S7400H (hardware redundancy) or two S7-300 CPUs with software redundancy.

I want to get another CPU to start automatically when the Main CPU stops. THanks If you required redundancy between two CPUs then as MIAMI suggested you can have R & H System. . In S7-300 there are standard (without letter), compact (C), fail-safe (F) and Technology (T) CPUs, but there is no S7-300R. The Software redundancy works with standard and compact CPUs (and S7-400 CPUs) The hardware redundancy in S7-400H usesFault-tolerant CPUs (with letter H (high availability)after the CPU name) and does not work with "normal" S7-400 CPUs.

R system can be configure with two stand alone CPU (such as S7-315 2 DP etc). . Just need to use proper Library blocks of SWRLib as per configuration. .
