Problem identified - Can't use Q20 for OBA8 program

William_B Posts: 5225 Rating: (1204)	Hi there everyone, FOREWORD A work partner of mine identified a problem today. I wish to share it with you all. I am not actually looking for a solution.. I am hoping someone might learn for the experience. Maybe "someone" listens and identifies the reason for this occurance. BACKGROUND We are making preperations for a project that uses a LOGO OBA8 with x2 I/O extension cards. It brings the I/O count to 24 inputs and 20 outputs. My partner was preparing the LOGO program in LogoSoft V8 to contain all the loose circuits he has previously designed. The 24 inputs were already referenced, so he had to pull in the 20 outputs.. PROBLEM 19 of the outputs were pulled into the program without issue. The 20th output is giving a problem. It only states "Q" in the instruction, not the expected "Q20". We have tried varies things but can not pull in Q20 into the program. The attached file is a modified copy of this program. It would be interesting to know if others can pull in the 20 outputs into this file without the problems we had. SOLUTION (?) This problem is linked to the specific file only. My partner was able to create a clean version where pulling all 20 outputs into the program was possible. --- What are your thoughts on this? w Attachment corrupted file.zip (301 Downloads)

Marcjan Diamond Member Joined: 4/22/2010 Last visit: 3/31/2025 Posts: 5697 Rating: (716)	Hello, It's getting even more strange, I converted the file to Lad, then I could add Q20. converted back to FBD and everything is back to normal, that means you can delete Q's and Select all (Q20 included) without problems. Edit: did another test just converting to Lad and Back to FBD, the result is 2 times Q1, after deleting 1 of the Q1, Q20 can be added, this is of course not an option with the full program, makes a mess of the drawing. I wonder if the program or parts were created/edited in LAD and converted before? Regards, Marcjan

I can confirm that my partner did not work with LAD at any stage. It is a bit of a "rule" in our office: If you work with a LOGO you work with FBD. It puts cold shivers down my spine that a teacher at a local college would encourage the srudents to use LAD for their projects. w
