Siemens PXC Superuniversal I/O questions

I wonder why Siemens even bother to have forum like this at all.

Many years ago one of our branch technician experienced with PXC36 universal points (X13,X14,X15,X16) DOs, he did not specify if he used a relay and what model should fit but it is a possible setup for sure. 22ma is not much I consent.

He also confirmed that this setup doesn't work with PXC16/24, and TXIO modules. The point stays in FAILED status.

A couple years back I tested the ability to define the “super Universal” points on our PXC Compacts as LDO’s. I used the following Functional Device Relay: RIBME2401B

Apparently when the “super Universal” points on the PXC-24 (X13, X14, X15, or X16) are defined as LDO’s the put out around 23 VDC.  When coupled with a special “low Coil Input” relay, you can expand the amount of DO’s available on the Compact.

Note:  The original PXC’s did not have “ Super Universal “ outputs… Check your hardware before trying this solution.

I used the attached relay and set it up as an LDO and a L2SL Point and they both worked fine.  The only issue is you have to provide 24vac to the relay for supply power.
