Is it possible to mount an SSD SATA II at the PCi-e slot?

Hi, we tried to mount and SSD SATA II drive (Kingspec MV-32) at the slot at the back but never got it working. The system would not reckognize the device at all.

Does anyone know if it is possible? Anyone succeded in mounting an drive there?

How is the device formated?

I tried connecting a USB drive to the IOT 2040, but failed. It was NTFS formated. After I reformated it to a FAT32 system, I could connect it.

Try the following: Go to the device directory via Putty and take notes of every entry there. Then plug in your drive and see, if this list changed.

Does anyone (@bergmanu?) know if this is even possible? I'm learning how to compile a new YOCTO linux image so I will try for myself but any time saving tips would be much welcome!

I don't recall exact details, but I remember that there are miniPCI interfaces that host both PCI and SATA links. The IOT2000 only supports PCI here.

If you have a PCIe-to-SATA adapter, the next step would be enabling CONFIG_SATA_AHCI support in the Linux kernel (requires an image rebuild). That's off right right now in the example image, thus the PCI adapter you plug in will not find any driver.
