Reading IP265 EPROM with COM265

Navnag Platinum Expert Joined: 11/21/2007 Last visit: 7/25/2025 Posts: 2326 Rating: (309)	Hello Friends Weare trying to read an IP-265 EPROM for a S5 to S7 upgradation job using COM 265 running in a SIMATIC Field PG after booting in STEP5 mode. We get a hardwareerror msg when we try to read the EPROM. using COM 265. ( Services -> E(E)PROM -> Read ) We are also not able to Go Online to IP265 from COM 265. Always getting a Communication Error. The Field PG has Windows-XP Operating system and STEP5is workig fine. We are able to Goonline to the S5 CPU using STEP5 as well as able to read / write EPROMS from STEP5. We have tried installing COM265 by selecting Option-1 ( PG 730 / PG 750 ... ) as well as option-2 ( PG ). Even tried to add the "trmosima.exe i" and "trmosima.exe r )in the batch file. The COM265 during installation does mention that it will not work in a "DOS Window" which I suspect is the problem as Windows-XP provides only a DOS Window. Can anyone advise on this please ... Is there any way, I can boot the Field PG in DOS Mode and Run COM 265 to Read the EPROM. ? Is there any way to upload the IP 265 program through online connection to the CPU ( Similar to the Download "LOAD_IP" option ) ? Thanks Navnag
