Tried to start the SQL SERVER and it gives the message 'The request failed or the service did not respond in a timely fashion. Consult the event log or other applicable error logs for details'

Dear ashok.techsys. I am facing the same problem as disscussed on this forum and i tried to activate the database since it is stopped (i dont know the reason, before the system was working properly). I tried to start the SQL SERVER (WINCC) and it gives the message 'The request failed or the service did not respond in a timely fashion. Consult the event log or other applicable error logs for details'

What should i do now. Before the system was working properly and one day the computer restarted and this happened.

Take a look at the SQL Server error logs.  
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\LOGs\ERRORLOG

A SQL Server system database might be damaged. Look for messages related to data corruption on system databases (master, model, msdb, tempdb) on the ERRORLOG file.

Normally nobody makes a backup of this databases but we should do it.

Let us know what you have on this log.
