Hi,

I am working on a boat engine and transmission remote control project. There will be linear actuators (w feedback pots) to control throttle and transmission. There will also be two selectable control stations with potentiometer levers.

I have the basic program that seems to work on simulation but I haven't figured out how to program the input for the potentiometer levers so that in the middle position the output is 0 and when the potentiometer goes to either end the output value goes to 10:

Any suggestions for this?

2------- 6

3------- 4

4------- 2 (Backward)

5------- 0 (Neutral)

6------- 2 (Forward)

7------- 4

8------- 6

9------- 8

10----- 10

Sorry, I don't have the sketch here with me now but the analog input values go to analog comparators for comparing the actuator potentiometer values. I will post the sketch later.

Transmission: Control potentiometer input values 0-4 mean reverse gear and 6-10 mean forward. There are only three preset positions (reverse, neutral, forward)

Throttle:Control potentiometer input values 4 ->0 and 6->10 translates both to 0->10 of throttle.

There may be (and propably is) a better way of doing this. Appreciate to hear your ideas
