Sinumerik 840d sl reference axis problem

There is a problem to take the Axis to center of the spindle because one work pies(train wheel axle) is chucked in between spindle and tail stock u can see in the pic. if we need to unload the axle  we need to take both carriage to home position other wise the we can not do the unloading process. after unloading the axle as like u said i can take the carriage to center position and can do the calibration. i hope u understood the situation.

1) is there any procedure for referencing the axis without taking to the position?

2) do we can go for a reset option?

Yes there is process to zero ref offset.

Simply put value in 34000

1. You must know existing zero position then put value in 34090 which offset you want. I.e 3 inch.

Do normal ref zero procedure.

After calibration complete you will see value changes by 3 inch.

Note: by setting offset in part program G54 to 59 it possible to run machine but hard limit not active.

 Hi, Shafid, I see you and Ramesh were discussing well and in the right dirction, Here I can give you some tips:

#1--your question--(is there any method to do referencing the axis without moving axis?)--you can move axis a little (less than one turn of motor encoder ) by set MD34000=0 (cam not active)

#2--I am not sure how did you start to reference --by NC program in AUTO mode? --I suggest you try to reference x2 axis 1st in manual (JOG-REF mode) wich you can easy to handle it. 

also You can see if moving direction wrong, stop moving by "Reset" key on MCP.

You can use MD34050 to change ref. starting direction

#3--you should notice if MD34000=1 (cam active) you need check your ref. limit switch ( I mean limit switch for REF, NOT Hardware limit ) . if this switch no good or not touched --you cannot finish your reference

#4--software limit maybe an easy thing to set, just make them about 1 to 2 mm inside the hardware limit 

Anyway, you posted so may topics, I don't know what is your real problem now.!!!

there is no machine zero mark on the machine. for a lath the x axis zero must be in the center of the spindle chuck right?(correct me if am wrong) and the work is loaded on the spindle. for removing the work piece the two tool carriage will go to home position. when tool carriage B is going home its perfect. For tool carriage A its coming to the positive hard travel switch and shows an alarm " Hard over travel detected" we need to solve these two issue to do referencing the axis.without stopping over travel of x axis we can not do this i think (is there any method to do referencing the axis without moving axis?)

 Hi Nulizang, thanks for ur reply. we are trying to fix this machine somehow. that is why i am looking for all possible way. 

we did refencing as in the manual but it result in wrong.

hai  guys thank you for your support finaly we could manage to do the referencing for carriage A and the value in the screen is fine now as the tool carriage B but still we have hard travel issue.

working on it.
