URGENT SOFTWARE REDUNDANCY WITH 3 PROFIBUS MASTERS

ABY GEORGE Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Configuration for my project goes like this Redundant power supply (PS407-10A),CPU-416-2DP, CP-443-1,CP443-5,CP-443-5Ext, This is a configuration for one station and other station which is redundant is also having the same configuration. The Probelm is i had configured the Software redundancy for one Profibus Master and in my case i am having 3 Profibus Masters, profibus master-1 is connected to ET200M while Profibusmaster-2 and 3 are communicating with the Siprotech relays now the thing is i am unable to configure software redundancy. I am attaching my system configuration and OB100 and OB1 where i have done the parametrization and other things for furthur referance Please help me at the earliest Attachment system config.zip (335 Downloads)

I think it is too hard to make this but it is not impossible it needs more effort

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (264)	First of all- how do you connect Siprotec's physiacally? Usual thing is Y-Link in such systems, but you will be limited to 244 bytes I/O for each Y-link. Are you successfull to implement redundant connection to ET200M (IM153-2 i supose?)? I made similar system, but with H-system (but never tried SoftRed in real life) - so i'll try help all i can. Y-link consists of 3 modules - 2 IM153 and one BM195 (i'm unsure abour last one). And they can contain other modules (signal for example) in this station also. Please write your ET200M order num - maybe you will be able to connect all DP devices to ET200M....

ABY GEORGE Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Thanks Aret, But the thing is i am very limited in this project as some one has already designed this project and i am implimenting his concept here, so i don't have Y-link here, i am connecting siprotec using OLM`s (Optical Link Module) which turn is having profibus bus port which is connected to CP-443-5 extended Profibus CP, and this is OLM is looped to another OLM which in turn is connected to second CP-443-5 which is connected to standby PLC and now with this connection what i am trying is during the switch over this profibus connections should also switch over to stand by PLC. If you can find somthing on this then it will be very useful for me in my first post i have attached few files please refer that also u will come to know abt my system configuration Thanks in Advance

The OLM loop is a trick that some people use but you have to do all the circus in PLC for communication.Irrespective of which PLC is master,both CPUs are kind of running on its own. So either of theDP masterscan pickupa given slave. So you have to write extra code in PLC to find which DP master hasa particularslave and send the IO information to the other CPU if required. It is also found that when you use this OLM loop trick, if one DP master/OLM or the link fails, it can take few seconds before the other DP master takes over the slave. I am talking about the Siprotecs. ET200M switch over much fasteras they have two IM - redundancy bundle. The OLM loop trick is a good solution only for non-critical IOs. I am not very sure Soft R systems support Y-link. So I think the best solution is to use S7-400H with all siprotecs on Y Link. But depending on your number of Siprotecs and Profibusmapping you choose, youmay need multiple Y-links as some maps are about 100 bytes long.This is an expensive solution, but is reliable and is the right configuration. But if you want to stick with currect design, the first question is can you move all the siprotecs to one Profibus(Let us say Profibus 3)? Then Profibus 4can be used as a direct link between CP443-5 on each rack and this can beused as you redundacy link.

Especially, the redundant plc connect to power instruments like siprotec, simeas etc. without Y-link. Hope to see ur reply soon.
