I was having the same problem as many of the previous posters. Windows 7 I think is the common issue here Every time I tried to choose the communications device it would automatically fill the 'choice' list but 802D(PPI) was not there Trying to add the 802D(PPI) option resulted in a request from the UAC but did not add the 802D(PPI) option to the list of installed devices. A previous poster hinted ata solution. I extracted the 802D(PPI) registry entry device from a working WIN XP installation after loading PLC PROGRAMMING TOOL and selecting Communications from the Navigator tool bar, then double clicking the coms device it auto loaded all the options. I then double clicked this .reg file (inzip archive) which added the 802D(PPI) option into the list of installed options Chose my baud rate and of I went. If I subsiquentlytried to edit the communications device again It lost the 802D(PPI) option (so don't change it) I think the error must be caused by a problem during the installation of the software not setting a flag telling the program it has already configured the communications device if some one finds a way to stop the auto populate devices option please tell me.
