[code] x := y + z; L #z; ITD; [/code] If I have assumed correctly then the answer is no. Source files can be either STL or SCL but not a mix of the two languages. The nearest you will get is what hdhosseini suggested in his post. Compile the STL portion into one FC/FB and call that from the FB/FC that is written in SCL.

I too am used to embedding assembler in c (using the ASM construct). I came across same hurdle you have, and wanted to embed STL in SCL in similar fashion. So I understand your frustration. SCL is fine for what it is. However, it is not anywhere near as powerful or flexible as 'c'. When I first started coding in SCL it was a real eye opener in regard to just how limited you are in what you can do when compared to 'c'. But, alas, there is nothing you can do about it, it is what it is. I think the nearest you will get to your goal is to make the STL code an FC, and call this FC directly from the SCL code. So to all intents and puposes, the STL code will be "embedded" in the SCL with regard to runtime. It will just be in a seperate file in the development environment. Just bear in mind though, that to make it an FC, you cannot have any static data in the STL code (that is no instance DB), and all parameters must be provided to the FC in the call. You can make the STL an FB if you wish, but this would require and addidional instance DB, or alternatively (and better in my opinion), have a local (multi) instance definition for the STL FB in the SCL code, which will automatically add the static data for the FB into the instance DB of the SCL code FB (hope that makes sense!).

delafrique Posts: 50 Rating: (5)	Namaste Prasad-ji, There is a work-round to do this. You compile your SCL block. Then open the compiled code in the STL (FBD and LAD) editor. Find the location at which you want to embed your own STL, and embed it. You obviously loose the ability to observe the code online in SCL but you can watch it in STL. Any changes will require the same process. It is cumbersome but the effect is custom STL inside a SCL matrix. You can use some easily recognizable code SCL to find the insertion spot. Think of assigning a unique number to a variable. Greetings from Africa
