Transfer encoderdata telegram 106 <-> telegram 81

DavidBrown Posts: 975 Rating: (9)	I have an external encoder connected to SMC30 that is connected to CU320-2. This is configured in Startdrive in TIA 16. There the encoder is added to as second encoder to a drive in telegram 10. In the S7 1500 PLC this encoder respresents an external encoder object. In the preservo task I have to write the sigals of the encoder in telegram 106 to a datablok with structure of telegram 82. However I do not find in telegram 106 that are indicated in telegram 82. What I do find is G1_ZSW, G1_XIST1, G1_XIST2, G1_STW. What I do not find as an idential copy are : ZSW2_ENC, STW2_ENC : here I only find some of the bits in common. How do I take care of these words? Another question : can I copy the words and dwords directly, or do I have to programmatically swap them first (little - big endian)? Thanks

RB91 Gold Member Joined: 4/28/2015 Last visit: 1/14/2026 Posts: 1278 Rating: (302)	Hi, only thing I know for sure is that you do not have to switch bytes - just copy the word / double word from Tel 106 to DB Tel 8x in the preservo. And in the post servo you have to do the thing vice versa -> copy data from DB with Tel8x to the output data of Tel 106 to transmit the encoder control word to the drive.
