$MA_ENC_TYPE[1,AX6] invalid value

Yes , i have tried to update NCU with PCMCIA v4.4 but it did not work. There are some hardware differences i think. Thank you for your interest Karl.

The first generation ncu573 has software available for it in sw 2.x, 3.x,4.3,4.4,and 5.3

If you are trying to read in the archive from a sw 4.4, it may be helpful to update the software on the nc-card to 4.4 prior to reading in the original archive.

Updates between 3.7 and 4.4 take some experience. I have never downgraded from 4.4 to 3.7, and think it would be quite enjoyable, as:

1. drive software changed, there are some name changes to the drive machine data, so you would have the opportunity to startup drives again. I don't know if the boot files would even operate.
2. nc software had some name changes in machine data also, so you will get messages about errors in INI files. (change INI_FILE_MODE=2 throughout archive to read in completely, and ignore such errors)
3. you will have to get the 3.7 plc toolbox, and change the plc program to the 3.7 version. The order of some of the variables in ob100 has changed between those versions, so additional thinking is required.

Where are you, perhaps service is in order?
