MODBUS communication license

After quite some research we found that the problem comes from a licensing cause (see the attatchment). In the diagnosis of the PLC a fault comes up aswell, which is also related to the modbus licensing. Now the supplier of the CPU with modbus and their software insists that the lack of a license cannot be the problem here. Hope someone could explain what might be going on? There you get informations about Licenses in chapter License request for Modbus TCP PN PLC: Fill in the SOFTWARE REGISTRATION form with the "IDENT_CODE" and "License No.". Send the form to Customer Support as a Service Request. Here you enable the checkbox "Problem with SIMATIC authorization/license". You will then be sent the REG_KEY activation code for your CPU. How do you establish a Modbus/TCP communication from a SIMATIC S7-300/S7-400 and where can you find further information? Regards, Towome

Kaulquappe Posts: 3093 Rating: (323)	Hello Domino_M, "it does not work" is no proper error description. As I can see from your screen shot some jobs are finished without error and some are finished with error. So which error number do you get? Check save_STATUS in CONTROL_DAT. A090 is a status message, it is displayed with ERROR=FALSE. Relevant is STATUS when ERROR=TRUE. Regards, Kaulquappe

The only thing is that the diagnosticbuffer is full with fault A090. The problem was a configuration of client - server settings, after that had been cleared the communication was established.
