We have several Sinumerik 840D CNC controllers with PCU50 HMI's. With most of them when the password is set ( SU***SE) it stays set! One particular OEM (Promot) has programed the password to expire after a set time (5 minutes?). How can we disable this time out feature? Is it in machine data or PLC? Thanks in advance Simon

HMI Advanced 06.03.28.00 2005/05/02 NCU 06.05.28 840D 12A C5 6FC5250-6BX30-5AH SINUMERIK PCU50 566MHz 128MB WINNT4.0 WS EmbSyS GRUND-SW VERS.7.3 Not sure what you want in the screen shot. We set the password to edit the part programs ( for gantry positions etc), then run the program to test any modifications, the next time we try to edit the program, the password has expired and needs to be set again! This happens in all 3 of our Promot gantry machines, but in Felsomat gantrys and other CNC machines the password stays set. BTW what is the procedure for taking / exporting a screen shot on a WinNT PCU50?

Ekalavya Posts: 2964 Rating: (484)	Hello, To see the screen exactly what are you using it... that's why i asked... whether any specail screens are present in it... If you have HMI PC/PG you can connect your laptop same screen will get displyed and take the screen shot. OR You need to boot your PCU 50 in Windows mode ....connect a external key board ...RUN HMI from your windows and then then use FUNCTION & Print screen. after doing this open RUN > mspaint >paste your screen shot infromation Regards, Ekalavya

FB4 PI Serv has a function called logout which kills off the password and this can be easily done with a timer. If I was programming this function I would also put in a defeat mechanism for when I needed to make changes myself. Have you tried contacting the oem to ask if they have one ? Pee

I'm using HMI Advanced for PC V7.2 but HMIAdvanced on the PCU50 is 06.03.28.00 and the screen are different. Hi Pee, am just about to have a look in FB4, to see whats there! If I double click on it, it opens with a warning and appears empty? Does the lock prevent me from seeing the contents? And how can I remove the lock and display it. Please excuse my lack of PLC knowledge as the programming is usually already done, and my task is the diagnosis! Simon
