Comm Error on PM16

DUTTA Posts: 102 Rating: (1)	Dear Experts, I have made one sample program using STRUC L 4.2.7 In my programe I have included following hardware PM16, MS41, SS1(X01), SS1(X02) I have intialised @DU3 block in SEND FP. After compliing and burning the EPROM when I start PM16 it will give me error Flashing "C" on 7 segment LED display of PM16. Can u look into my program and tell me where I m doing mistake? I think the @DU1 (DUST1) block is missing, add it to FP-@P4SEK and connect it to D01_P1.X01, sorry I forgot it yesterday. Due you have a SS1 in Port1, you needa PG (with 20mA) or a TTY/RS232 converter. Please let the IBS-Tool run under DOS, see this notes.

DUTTA Posts: 102 Rating: (1)	Dear Miami, I m sending u a pic of PM16 please can u tell me weather it has SS1 port inside or not? as I m confused now. as per the manual Pm16 says there is thick film hybrid module must be installed on X51 and X52 connector of PM16. I think there is a thick ribbin film is there on PM16 board. Please have a look and confirm it. I dont have any TTY converter with me. And all SIMADYN software are on normal Laptop. But I m having SIMENS Filed PG -M2 and it has on1 15-pin port for S5 communication. will it work to monitor PM16 board with IBS tool? and also is it mendatory to connect phisically both PM16 and Partner (CP341) while trying to establish the communication in between them? I mean I just want to confirm that PM16 is giving "C" error just because it is not phisically connected to partner(CP341). please clarify this also. reagards, Ankur Attachment DSC00005.JPG (542 Downloads)

The SSx modules I saw had been white, but this may have changed. Due you use will use a normal PC (Laptop),you should use a SS2 forX01 (Monitor, IBS). It is possible you get the "C" because the communication partner is not ready. This is normaly when you select the mode handshake. I'm wondering you used 0 at the mode connector of CP3412 in REST.CFP, I expected somethink like 'r' or 'h' (refresh or handshake, but this may be only inSTRUC 4) Please check this connector. DUTTA Posts: 102 Rating: (1)	Dear Experts, I have got two SS1 Hybrid modules and I have placed them on PM16 at X51 and X52 sockets But now when I power on the rack it gives me error on PM16 like Slowly Flashing "b" what does this error means. Kampf-Pasman Posts: 75 Rating: (13)	The flashing "b" means, that the battery in your rack is empty or not existing. It is the same battery like in S5.

The PM16 can not reconize no, a SS1 or a SS2 is pluged in. It sees just no communication if no or a wrong module is pluged in. If you have SS1 you need a TTY or 20mA interface on the PC/PG.
