Profinet Protocolstack

Are there any plans to sell this devices with an included stack for ProfiNet? Maybe one expensive Model for industry and one cheap version just for education. I think it could be very interesting for education. So if you include bindings for the most common languages (C, C++, Java. C#, Python), the students are able to connect the a Siemens PLC with a Siemens IOT Device. They can already do it now with the snap7 library, but it's not the ProfiNet protocol.

What do you think?

I don't know when Profinet will be available but I already have Node-Red running on the IoT2000 then with Modbus module  this would be a viable alternative in many scenarios

there is also a module installable using "npm install compactcom-40-nodes" that will support many industrial protocols including Profinet

Let the community do the job to develop good wrappers around the bindings to fit better to the target language.

For education you could ship a reduced subset of the ProfiNet stack. I think the students don't need the whole implementation.

 I wonder how you could install npm in the first place? I got the following:

root@iot2000:/etc/opkg# opkg install npm
Collected errors:
 * opkg_prepare_url_for_install: Couldn't find anything to satisfy 'npm'.

Could you please share your experience?

"opkg install nodejs" and then installing compactcom-40-nodes.

Sorry, it seems you were right, I lost the SSH connection after having reset the device.

Interestingly, can I use RS232 to restore the connection?

I'm really stuck with the problem how to connect to the device without network. I've tried to use both COMs with different speed (9600 and 115200), but no luck. I also thought of microUSB but it requires a driver for some CDC Serial device. I couldn't find any info about this in the docs. There must be an emergency connection!

Is there any idea?
