hefeng_05 Posts: 60 Rating: (2)	a lot of engineer use the PLC analozy to catch the trace of tags but is not the software of siemens in siemens software there is servicelab .it can catch the trace of tags of siemens PLC 300-400 via MPI or enthnet .

OlafS1 Experienced Member Joined: 6/1/2006 Last visit: 10/11/2024 Posts: 129 Rating: (14)	Hello all, real time fast trending could be done in serveral ways, with several different products. since I'm not familiar with neither PLC Analyzer nor with ServiceLab Ican't say anything abouth them. The SIEMENS tool to use in such kind of application is CASTOMAT X- Tools. It uses Ethernet for a fast cycle accurate timestamped data transmission to a PC, which then can perfrom a lot of functions, like median calculation. It even stores the values aquired on a hard drive for later analysis. Ask you Siemens Rep for a quote.

Have a look at the following link. http://www.iba-ag.de No I am not promoting these product. Though we are quite satisfied with them, we would like to try some alternatives as it is a bit uncomfortable to bank on just one supplier. So if somebody finds such alternatives, we would thankful. That's alright Krish, I'm happy to take care of this for you The ibaPDA S7-Analyzer is only one small powerful piece in the overall high speed data acquisition, storing and analysis related offering from iba. iba is also not limited to Siemens PLC related high speed data acquisition, but supports numerous PLC vendors, bus systems (the Profibus "Sniffer" ibaBM-DPM-S-64 being an all time personal favorite) as well offering direct hardwired "Parallel Analogue/Digital Units"(aka PADU's, with up to 25KHz sampling rate, i.e. every signal gets capturedevery40 micro seconds). Add synchronised high speed cameras capture,HMI screen capture,powerful reporting,its own active X embedded "Q Panel" mini HMI,etc. etc. to thatand you get a rough idea ofwhat iba can do (they've been around and active in the high speed data acquisitionmarket for over 25 years). As such any ibaPDA system is highly scalable and can comprise of onlya simple troubleshooting related S7 Analyser to begin with and "grow" to becomea Plant wide high speed data acquisitionrelated "Historian". As I made mentioned earlier, our experience has been excellent with iba products and we have been consistently using them (depending different client needs , different products and version) and the reason why I put this in this forum topic was that I would recommend this as the most appropriate solution for the problem put forward. But I am also interested in alternatives!! So you see I am not shooting you..only shooting your job...!!!loll!! (just joking...somebody has to do some real hard convincing to make us change). Krish
