If protected you can't open it at all (only if sourcefile is included). Are you trying to open a standard block from siemens library ? Then you have no need to open the block, Press F1 on this block an read how to use it. Regards, Marcjan

As an example the function in attahment is FB22 (ROCLIM) from modular PID control package.Upload the data here or search via net for more information on the block. Copy your function in the "Blocks" folder.Archive the project and upload it here. Best regards, Hamid Hosseini

If there are sources you can open them and recompile without know how protect, if there are no sources, then you cant do much. Even if you will open this protected block you will not be able to understand or improve it because is without symbols.
