We have two servers that are fully redundant, Server A is the master and Server B is standby. I have downloaded the entire project to Server B, And everything was completed. When Server B is synchronizing with Server A, the connection of our client was interrupted for some unknown reason. Therefore , I am force to re-start server A hoping that the redundancy will work and all client station will switch to Server B. Everything went fine and working. When server A restarted. I downloaded the entire project to Server A and started the runtime. Again, everything went fine. My problem now is that I want to put server A to master since this is our original configuration of the system. Unfortunately when I am trying to deactivate Server B runtime I got a pop-up message as follows: "The partner server cannot assume the function of the local server. If you disable the local server, this redundant operator control and monitoring server system will no longer be available. Do you want to continue?" This is the first time I seen this pop-up message and I'm worried if I continue with this our client will loose connection again with the server. Kindly help me please in solving this issue. bg2492 Diamond Member Joined: 5/16/2014 Last visit: 9/12/2022 Posts: 7298 Rating: (2172)	Hello PCS 7, the Tag "@RedundantServerState" of Server A contains 2 (StandBy) and the Tag "@RedundantServerState" of Server B contains 1 (Master) in your Screenshots. The message: "The partner server cannot assume the function of the local server. If you disable the local server, this redundant operator control and monitoring server system will no longer be available. Do you want to continue?" comes usually only, when the other Server is not running, or if it is in Fault-State ("@RedundantServerState" = 3). The Fault-State comes usually, if one of the processes has crashed, or you have a problem with network or PLC-connevtion. You should check the Event-Logs of the OS and of WinCC, if you can find any hints. Best Regards Georg Berghof

For the meantime I notice I have an alarm in our client station that maybe related to my issues. There is an alarm in the process REDRT:OSSVRA: Partner Station Failed. But I don't understand why it has this message since both servers are running properly. I also checked the internal tag for redundancy and they seems to be all fine.as shown in my attachment. Thats why I am planning to push through by deactivating the RT on Server B and see what will happens. REgards,

Can you also check the below items? 1. The Time Synchronization between both station, make sure they are synchronized. 2. The Netpro connection name, make sure they are the same. 3. The ethernet (terminal bus) and serial link (redundancy link) are connected without issue. 4. The redundancy setting is configured correctly, (Sync through Serial COM port) 5. The Simatic Shell redundancy is configured correctly. 6. The user right is okay, able to access each other station and folders without the need to key in a password. Hope it helps.

bg2492 Diamond Member Joined: 5/16/2014 Last visit: 9/12/2022 Posts: 7298 Rating: (2172)	Hello PCS 7, "REDRT:OSSVRA: Partner Station Failed" is the systemmessage: 1012200 REDRT:Partner station fails That means WinCC was terminated on the partner server OSSVRB for any reason. The reason you may find in one of the Logfiles "WinCC_Sys_0x.log" in the folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Siemens\WinCC\diagnose". Best Regards Georg Berghof

The Time Synchronization between both station, make sure they are synchronized. ( Yes they are synchronize) 2. The Netpro connection name, make sure they are the same. (Yes they are the same, and there no changes done on the netpro prior to this issue) 3. The ethernet (terminal bus) and serial link (redundancy link) are connected without issue. (Yes they are connected without issue) 4. The redundancy setting is configured correctly, (Sync through Serial COM port) (Yes) 5. The Simatic Shell redundancy is configured correctly. (Yes) 6. The user right is okay, able to access each other station and folders without the need to key in a password. (Yes, both server can access each other files) Still now don't know if I have to go in deactivating Server B to check if redundancy is working. I tried changing the preffered server of one of my clients to Server A so in case redundancy doesn't work one of the clients still connected to a running runtime if what I'm planning is correct? To find out the reason for the interruption you should check the "SIMATIC_S7_PROTOCOL_SUITE_0x.LOG" for errors. Best Regards Georg Berghof

I notice the message "Redundancy error: Connection "RTU_AS" is not redundant!" . Can you help me how can I rectify this error. We have 2 PLC AS1 and RTU_AS.
