I am new with TIA Portal, @jboti can you please share your findings with me? I am working on a safety task that need me to do array indexing in S7 1500 safety section and i am having challenges executing this task in TIA portal 1500 safety code. See the figure below for reference.

I've never used arrays in a safety program. I've just tried it, and I see two problems here:

1. In your image it looks like the array is defined locally - this is not accepted in TIA Portal (at least in V17). You have to define your array in a global safety DB.

2. Access to an F-array's elements in safety program is limited. You can have read access, but only with the instruction RD_ARRAY_I (for INT) or RD_ARRAY_DI (for DINT), not with MOVE.

Looks like write access is not permitted to an F-array.

Experts, correct me if I'm wrong.
