I HAVE TPCOMMUNICATE A 6RA 70 DC MATER DRIVE WITH CPU 412 2DP ON PROFIBUS I AM USING CBP2 CARD WHICH FC OR SFC SHOULD I USE I HAVE GOT THE COMMUNICATION ALREADY ESTABLISHED IN BETWEEN THE DRIVE AND THE PLC BUT THE DRIVE IS HOWING A 083

I'm not an expert in communication with Masterdrives[:blush:] but I know a little bit about PROFIBUS. So I hope the informations I can give may help.

I searched for the manual of an 6RA70 Masterdrive. It contains informations for the softwareversion V2.1 SIMOREG CM 6RA70; Operator Instructions for SW-Version 2.1
There in capture 7.7.2 they discripe the commissioning via CPB2.
So there are cyclicdata an acyclic data.

• Transferingcyclic data in most of the cases no SFCs and so on are needed. If you want to transfer"consistend" data with the size of 3 Byte or more than 4 Byte you have to call the SFC14 and SFC15.
• Transfering acyclic data there are theSFC55 and 58 for thewriting of parameters and the SFC59for reading. They are used, if the partner is a socaled S7-Slave.For DPV1 there are SFB52 for reading and SFB53 for writing data records.

Hi Shamsher,
To use Profibus to a drive you first need to establish how many words you need.
If you are only sending a control word and a set point and only want back from the drive a status word and actual speed then you need to use PPO type 3 which is just 2 words and with this you can address the drive using periferal double words eg PID256 and PQD256.
If you need more words in your telegram, for example if you needed back from the drive a status word an actual speed value, the motor current and the motor torque then you would need to use PPO type 4 which is a 6 word telegram (the last 2words would be blank). For this you would need to use SFC 14 and SFC 15 to transmit consistant data.

I have attached 2 example programs for a S7-300 to a Micromaster one using periferal addressing and one using the SFC14&15 blocks. The principal is the same for a 6RA70.
