ALM - Server-based licences

We would like to give you a tip on how licences can be used server-based in the Automation License Manager (ALM).

The licences of our engineering software (STEP 7, WinCC, etc.) are floating licences, i.e. they can be moved back and forth between different computers. It is therefore possible to set up a licence server on which all licences are stored. If necessary, this licence can be accessed from a workstation or the licence can be transferred from the server to the workstation. The Automation License Manager (ALM), which is supplied with the engineering software, is required for this.
