Replacing D435 with D425

HandyAndy Posts: 46 Rating: (0)	We have determined that our project can be accomplished with the Simotion D425 instead of the D435 and save some money. I expected the move from one model to the other to be quite simple. Scout let me replace one with the other in Hardware Config without complaint. The project compiled OK and the consistency check indicated no problems. But when I attempted to get online with the D425, Scout refused to connect with the Sinamics_Integrated protion of the controller. The error message indicated that Scout was expecting to find a D435 Sinamics Integrated and balked when it found a D425 Sinamics Integrated. Hardware Config won't allow me to replace the Sinamics Integrated. I ended up spending an entire workday rebuilding the project. Does anyone know an easier way to move a project from one controller to the other? It shouldn't be so hard. Rebuilding the project is just so tedious and error prone. Sure, I did the copy & paste to get all my axes and cams and programs from one to the other. But then there were so many details to try to remember to reproduce as well. And several connections were broken that resulted in more troubleshooting time. It's working now, but I fear I will have to do this again. Cheers, Andy

Select the SINAMICS Device in Scout. Right Mouse Click -> Target Device -> Deviceversion in the dialog you can change the type from D435 Integrated to D425 Integrated. Alternative way: select the CPU -> right Mouse click -> UPDATE Technological Package in the Dialog press the button "Update" Regards Christoph
