This is not quite correct anymore with the current version of the PN/PN coupler as it supports Module shared Inputs and Outputs (MSI/MSO) and chapter 6.3 of the PN/PN coupler manual has all the gory details on this. Saying that, while this means that you could get away with only one PN/PN coupler to exchange data between your PLC IO Controller and two (or more) other PLC IO Controllers, I'd personally probably keep it simply and use two PN/PN couplers (or use I-Slave functionality for that matter if they are all on the same Subnet anyhow or Send/Receive comms unless real time data exchange is a must have, it's all horses for courses as they say). |

Yes This example is Shared Device usage btw rather than MSI/MSO, but - as said before - it's horses for courses. Also as said, I'd personally keep it simple and use two PN/PN couplers.
Yes, presuming they are on the same IP address range. |
