PCS 7 V5.6? That is very old version. Seem like you have two OS Servers, standby and master. You can perform Full OS download right? 1. shutdown standby OS runtime. 2. download os into standby OS 3. activate standby OS 4. Wait for synchronization to complete 5. Deactivate master OS 6. Download master OS 7. activate Master OS. Done. (This should work normally in PCS 7 V7.0 - PCS 7 V9.1 environment) |

It is completely alright to perform full OS download. That is normal. The reason you cant download changes is because you might modify too many stuffs in WinCC explorer which unable to allow you to update realtime. Or, there might be something in use by WinCC runtime, which could not allow you to replace the file on the fly. Imagine , you are editing a Microsoft word document, and someone wanna replace this Microsoft word document with exact same name of file, it will not be possible. Unless you exit the word document and not using it. Full OS download will not cause the plant to shutdown, but of course, you may always perform a planned schedule OS download. Hope this is helpful. |
