Unspecified Error Pop up while activating Wincc Runtime

febin.varghese Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Dear All, Please help me in the below problem. I was trying to open a migrated project of Wincc 7.0 to 7.3V update 6 . While activating the runtime a pup up is coming as Unspecified error and the runtime is getting deactivated. Kindly help me to sort out the above issue. Regards, Febin Varghese

Can you try to create a new project in WinCC V7.3, and send it to runtime. If this not would work to, you may have a problem with your installation. If it would work, you can try to delete all files with name <projectname>.dc* in the projectfolder if the project is closed. If this would not help too, you should create a Service Request, and send the project to the Technical Support of Siemens for investigation. Regards Georg Berghof

Rockon Bronze Member Joined: 11/2/2008 Last visit: 11/7/2024 Posts: 93 Rating: (1)	Hello Everybody, I am facing Unspecified error problem with V7.4 We installed V7.4 in new PC on Windows7 prof in Expert mode When we activated project it was giving "Unspecified error" and got deactivated immediately We did all tricks given in forum, but it could'nt help. Like deleting *.dc file, Reset WinCC etc. Then we deactivated Alarm and Tag Logging then it started working. Now project is working fine untill Alarm and Tag logging is deactivated Is any solution is available for this.

You can execute a "general reset" of the archiving system. You should have open the project in the WinCC-Explorer. The execute "CCArchiveManager.exe -resetall". But this deletes all collected runtime-data, and sets back the Archiveconfiguration in Alarmlogging and Taglogging to the dafault values (1 day / 1 Week). Regards Georg Berghof
