TIA Portal's diagnostics are primarily used for PROFINET devices because they can receive PROFINET-specific diagnostic data. While you can view some general device information in the diagnostics view for other network devices, the Web Based Management (WBM) tool is probably used for configuring and diagnosing industrial routers like your SCALANCE M876-4.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure what you saw or expected to see in the diagnostics view today. However, the deviation is most likely not an issue with the TIA Portal or the used firmware version.

While you can download an older firmware version, it is not recommended since those versions are end-of-life products. You can load the firmware using WBM.

Have you tried the Online Access option while the Scalance FW v8.03 is online/connected? 

If you expand and locate that device connected to your PG/PC's profinet connected network adapter, you can try the "Online & diagnostics" option there. 

Using "Online access" does not care what version of TIA Portal you are using and should show any available PN diagnostics.

Hi everyone!

My current project uses a Scalance M876-4 to send alarm messages via SMS.
I recently bought a unit with firmware version 8.03, but I can’t go online through TIA Portal to perform diagnostics.

I’m currently working with TIA Portal V20. Is it possible to downgrade the firmware of the Scalance to an earlier version?
I think the current firmware version of the device is not compatible with TIA Portal.

Please help me solve this problem. I’d really appreciate any support or suggestions.
