The ONLY difference I see on my module and the one I am looking to buy online si the S V-number and the FS: number

current module reads
S V-HOA70678 with FS: 03 under

The one i'm looking to purchase reads
S V-NDDC1196 with FS: 06 under

Will this one work, or do i need to find MATCHING S and FS numbers??

In general the FS indicates the hardware built. Sourcing internal components from another supplier could mean the FS number changes. For your purposes the difference in FS could be insignificant. I cannot lay my hands on a description for your specific case. (You are welcome to contact Siemens Support using the LINK.)

The part number has the pattern 6ES7 2xx-xxxxx-xxxx. Are both devices the same part number?  You have no problem if the part numbers match exactly. Some variation is also acceptable -- but you need to say what. For example replacing a CPU222 with CPU224 can work, but remapping of IO addresses will be needed.
