Hello,

I am new to Siemens IOT ecosystem.

I am trying to setup my IOT 2050 Gateway device ( 6ES7647-0BA00-0YA2 / FS4 ) with IOT2000 Input/Output Module ( 6ES7647-0KA01-0AA2 ).

I have setup jumpers X82 and X83 to (1-2) position. ( please see attached image )

I don't see  output voltage from Input/Output Module, I am powering ABB Adam sensor via the Input/Output Module and the Adam sensor is not receiving power at all.

Would be really nice if anyone of you can help with the following questions.

1. How can I definitely tell the  Input/Output Module is working has been setup properly ( Is there any system level command that can confirm that). 
2. Is that any other configuration that is needed to enable connections via the shield?

Summary of Troubleshooting Steps Performed:

1. Verified Sensor Signal with a Multimeter: I have confirmed with a multimeter directly at the DI0 and M0 screw terminals that the sensor is working correctly and sending a clear signal. The voltage physically toggles between ~22.4V (gate closed) and 0V (gate open). This confirms the sensor and its wiring to the terminal are correct.
2. Configured System via iot2050-setup: I have run the setup utility and configured the I/O Shield as follows:
   • The master setting is set to Enable GPIO.
   • For the specific pin gpio12 (which maps to DI0), the direction is set to Input and the pull-mode is Hiz. The configuration was saved and the device was rebooted.
3. Tested with mraa-gpio: After configuration, the command mraa-gpio get 12 always returns 0, regardless of whether the sensor is sending a 0V or ~22.4V signal.
4. Final Test with Jumper Wire: To completely rule out any issue with the sensor's signal, I disconnected the sensor and used a jumper wire to connect a direct +24V signal (from the shield's L+ terminal) to the DI0 input terminal. Even with a direct and constant 24V input, the mraa-gpio get 12 command still returns 0.

Question: Given these tests, is a hardware fault on the I/O shield the correct conclusion? Are there any other software or configuration steps I might have missed before I proceed with replacing the hardware?

For simplicity and testing I have removed ABB sensor completely 

Here is my test setup 

• X82 and x83 jumpers are set in 1-2 position in IOT 2050 gateway
• configured GPIO7 and GPIO8 as Output
• The gateway is powered via a 24V SMPS ( same on powering IOT 2050 gateway )
• I have used a jumper wire to connect DQ1 ( pin 7 )  and DI0 ( pin 12 ) - and connected M0 and M1 in a follow up test

Here are the things that I have confirmed via multimeter

• The I/O module is getting a 24V power supply
• After executing mraa-gpio set 7 1 , the multimeter reads 24V between DQ1, M1 and DI0 and M0, however mraa-gpio get 12 returns 0 in the system ( which is weird )

I can confirm that setting DQ1 does set DI0 high at the hardware level (confirmed using multimeters ) but for some reason `mraa-gpio` or `node red` is not able to see it. 

I copied the exact node red configuration that you shared, but i doesn't work in my case

Maybe there is a hardware fault, I don't know.

Were you able to run your node red test without any input load? ( can DI0 be activated without any load? )

I updated my firmware to 1.4.4 ( latest ) and the OS to example image 1.5.1 
Still no change in result. 

I have ordered another I/O module and will run some tests on it. 

Will share results.

The tested with the I/O module today and things work as expected!! 

Not sure what the problem with the first I/O module was, but it proves that it was faulty.
