always appears at the top which uses up screen real estate.   Is there a setting or an option to turn it off permanently?

I'll never sign up for advanced security because it just makes more complex to just get logged in.  And I have to admit that I can't figure out what might be worth stealing that warrants such a high level of security.  I've been participating in tech support fora for over 20 years now with the simplest passwords and no one seems to want to steal my user name (I did have a post appear as “autogen” 4-5 years ago which amazed me because I've always logged in with my user name; no idea where that came from).  

Install Ublock Origin as a Chrome Extension, and on the page where the banner comes up, right-click and select “Block Elements”.  Now select what you want to block and presto!  No more!!  I personally used it to block the MFA Nag and also elements on Compas homepage.  Best of luck.

That's a Interesting observation about authority to make a purchase.   

There is a shopping cart in the menu bar at the top of this web site when I log-in.   I work part-time (semi-retired) for a Siemens instrumentation distributor.  So my email domain name might qualify me to be authorized to make purchases, even though I am not involved in that aspect at all.  

Who knows?  It's the deep, dark mystery of web sites.
