Do i need breakresistens on G120 when using torque.....

NickeNyfiken Posts: 65 Rating: (1)	Perhaps an stupied question but do I need an breakresistens on an G120 when it will work on an papper oncoiler. I'm thinking that the motor will be pulled with torque added. I don't think i'll need it but i will ask anyway.

JensS Posts: 739 Rating: (55)	Hello, a bit more information. G120 PM240: A braking resistor is needed. The standard braking resistor does have a load cycle of 5%. The integrated chopper can handle the rated output current of the inverter. If you have a higer load cycle, you have to calculate the correct resistor, e.g. 20% load cycel. See FAQ: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/22101908 G120 PM250: Energy recovery is integrated, no braking resistor is needed.

NickeNyfiken Posts: 65 Rating: (1)	Thanks for the extended information, i have read about G120 and for me sadly the PM 250 are from 7,5 kW (my motor is 2,2kW). Looking on an G120D, that one have power feedback from 2,2kW.
