Hello Smiffy, [schnippschnapp] I have another question regarding programming SCL in PCS7 7.1 environment. I have a SCL source which is only a control block. I'm going to connect outputs to MEAS_MON blocks and CH_DO blocksand inputs are read by CH_DI blocks. Thecustom blockhas only a controlling function and Igoing to put this block in CFC where I will connect theinputs and outputs. Do I really need tocreate system attributes forparameters and the block itself, since it is only a"simple" block. My parameter assignment looks like this: VAR_INPUT UNIT_ON :BOOL; //Unit healthy AUTO :BOOL; //Auto mode MAN :BOOL; //Manual mode anddo I really need to create system attributes? if so, which do I need for only a control block? I've read the "create programming blocks" manual, but doesn't provide me enough info. Thanks |

If you want to be able to link to the block in CFC, which I assume that you do as it wouldn't be a lot of use if you couldn't. Then you will need the "S7_link := 'true';" attribute. If you want to be able to monitor the values online for debugging purposes (test mode), you will also need the "S7_dynamic := 'true';" attribute. Note the "S7_link" attribute is only applicable for inputs and in_outs. See path 1-16 of the following manual for a list of attributes and their function. Block Attributes Description |
Programming today is the race between software engineers building bigger and better idiot proof programs, and the universe producing bigger and better idiots. |

ok, so now I have created var_outputs and because s7_link is not for var_outputs, |

Pffff I thought, i'll make the attributes without capital, just for indication. Well, Thx for your explanations! I can call myself almost an expert now....... |

hahaha, Yeah, I actually meant it as a joke... I learn PCS7 through the problems I encounter (in a way).Smallproblems or big problems, doesn't matter. I think I'm a long way from an "expert" (expert: controls everyprogramming lanquage, adjust this at projects, choosing the best configuration, engineering within a limittime and so on). Andan expert knows thats7_link is with capital S ;) Youre right! If you designed typicals and you just need to place them in a correct order for a project... then programming is boring (copy paste). Also, clients always have a different plant configuration and in combination with the use PCs7 system, never the same.. |
