Hello RARIC I don't mean to scare you, but the IP243is an "intelligent" card and its functionality could be configured/customised to suit the application. Here is an excerpt from its manual (download it HERE): "The IP 243 is a module for input and output, for preliminary processing, and for jumpering of analog signals within short processing times. The submodule in its full configuration has eight quick analog input channels with max. 35 usec. conversion time, four input channels with analog value conditioning and four analog output channels. Two comparators allow the comparison of analog values with each other and via two value difference amplifiers, the signals can be amplified up to 20 times their original strength. All analog signals can be freely jumpered via soldering bases on the circuit board. This means that as a user you can decide about the individual combinations of the available hardware components. Furthermore, eight digital inputs and eight outputs with direct bus access are available. As you have the "1AA" version you also have the most powerful of all IP 243 "beasts" which offered the biggest range of features. As Navnag said, there is no direct S7 card as a one on one replacement for it. Since the IP243 is however NOT just an accumulation of (high speed) I/O's, but rather a signal processor with onboard (high speed) I/O's, I would be very hesitant to "simply" replace it with some high speed S7 I/O cards. I'm afraid to say that the only sensible course of action is to firstly determine the actual configuration and functionality of your IP243 in combination with the corresponding S5 logic (note that the IP243 DI's could also be used to trigger interrupts) and then decide on the most suitable functional replacement for it. I hope this helps |
