Vithani, I have an SED2 VFD that I would like to have latch digital inputs for the on/off motor functions. This way I can use two normally open pushbuttons on my operator control board, one for the ON command and one for the OFF command. The SED 2 (from what I can see and have read) does not seem to have the same Free Block programming functionality like the Micromasters do. Maybe I am not looking in the right place. Is it even possible to latch DI's with an SED2 VFD? Could I do so through the use of BI/CO programming? And if so how would I do so? Or would I have to use some kind of PLC, etc.. to do the latching? Thanks for your time, any help here is very much appreciated as I am still fairly new to VFD's in general. Splitted from latching DI's. |

I just found an interesting document that supposedly shows a way to latch digital inputs using the digital relay outputs. See the attached document, specifically page 7 of 11 (3 wire control using relay 1 for latching) Could I do the same with my SED2? I noticed the relays in the example are labelled differently than on the SED2 that we have. In the example they use Relay Outputs - 18,19,20 (which correspond to Relay 1 on the micromasters). Whereas on my SED2 I have the choice of either Relay Output 1 - 20,21,22 OR Relay Output 2 - 23,24,25. Also from what ive read so far it looks like my relay outputs on the SED2 can only be 120V, 2A OR 230V, 1A . Which would make me think its impossible to wire them back into the Digital Inputs as shown in the attached document. I think I would need a DC output option..... Like what the Micromasters have with their relays.... e.g. the 30VDC 5A Resistive option? Which it seems I dont have with the SED2? Again any help on this subject is greatly appreciated . Or if anyone has any ideas on how to get an SED2 to latch its digital inputs by some other means, PLEASE SHARE. Thanks for your time. Attachment38BBEC6Ad01.pdf (576 Downloads) |
