analogic input problem

GBAUTO Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	hi, what i want to learn is the fact that i changed the beckhoff station with the siemens IM 153-1.But i have a problem on analogical input modul.This is used for potentiometer signal.When i follow as an online the value which comes from analogical modul of IM153-1 start from 0 and goes up to some value and then suddenly goes to unknown.For this reason the machine speed exceeds max.speed value. What can the cause of this problem be? Best regards,

Also in the handbook SIMATIC S7-300 Programmable Controller Module Specifications you may find how to measure a potentiometer. If there is something wrong with the signal, for example a to low or high resistor then you may get difficulties with the measurement and a overflow or underflow may come. It is also very important to have the M and the Earth very good for the analog signals.

Beckoff normally uses Intel format while Siemens uses Motorola. You may need to change bytes order in a data word beforeprocessing it. Other thing is that Siemens and Beckhoff use different analogue values scaling, e.g. Beckhoff: 10V - 32767, Siemens: 10V - 27648.
