LADDER: self cancelling ladder rung?

Ferdinand Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	All, I've created a ladder rung which performs a MOVE operation. As well as the MOVE op the ladder sets an inhibit bit which sits earlier in the same rung. In effect the rung cancels itself immedietly. The ladder works and has the desired affect. But i'm just thinking to myself; is this wise? Would it, for instance, be better to put a one-shot bit in to hold the rung for one PLC cycle? Thanks Ferdi

However, I prefer to use one-shots instead of inhibit bitsbecauseI find it easier to read the code with one-shots, as I don't have to figure out the conditions that set the inhibit bit. For code that I remember writing, this is not a big deal as I will already know how it works. For code that I have forgotton or that someone else wrote, using one-shots rather than inhibit bits saves the time of tracking down the inhibit bit firing code.
