You can find information about the s7-200 in the catalog ST70. That catalog and other can be ordered or downloaded from The Information- and Download Center.

At this moment you shouls download/order the ST70-2007 catalog and maybe the HMI catalog (ST80-2006 and ST80 news-2007)

You should also download theS7-200 manual.

About powersupplies, you can use any powersupply (also non-Siemens, e.g. Riedel) as long as it is suitable for the S7-200/300, e.g.for 24VDC you should use a switched-mode powersupply because of the small tolerance.

For a 'short' description of the modules you can use the catalog and chapter 1 of the manual. More detailed information can be found in appendix A of the manual.

When configuring/planning a station pleas note table 1-2 of the manual where the amount of expansion modules is mentioned.
