Dear ehassab, if you want to use redundancy you don't have to use a server system, if you are working with a single station. If you have a server client system the redundancy makes only sence on the server because on the clients so data is archived. So if you have Client -Server you have to configure the Redundancy on the Server. When you use single station you can use Redundancy without Server option. best regards |

single station means the project typ you are using. Single-User-Project (single station) Multi-User-Project (server project) Client-Project The redundancy only works with the first two project types. best regards |

Thanks for this topic. I have a questions around this one. 1. First of all, what for redundancy of 2 single station are done? 2 single stations can connect to proccess controllers without redundancy. And as they have NO clients it is not necessary to organize switching between stations? So what for? 2. What type of Windows must be on single station to organize redundancy? P.S. I want to test redundancy on single stations. Best regards, Sporyagin Kirill. |

Hello! Two WinCC single stations can access the same PLC simultaneously. They can have the exact same application, and you can even create diagnose for one station to know if the other is active. However when one of the stations is deactivated for some time for some reason, the database in it will no longer be complete. With the redundancy option you may sync the databases, so the station which has more data can sendthe missing data to the other one. This will affect trends and alarm history, as well as any other historical data which may be accessed during runtime. Best regards, Danielle |
