Absolute Encoder on S7

AJIT_TIPNIS Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi I want to creat a project in which three position control is to be used with three absolute encoders input, The out put required for positioning will be six relay out puts for forward & reverse for each axis. Can any one suggest a proper PLC & Modules for this application?

LXG Posts: 33 Rating: (0)	Hello, This could be HW configuration for yours aplication. Plc S7-300 :6ES7 338-4BC01-0AB0 Position decoder card SM 338: 6ES7 338-4BC01-0AB0 You will need also encoder for position reading. i'm not convinced that you will be able to make positioning with only 2 outputs for axis. I think you need at least 2 outputs for one direction and 2 speed AC motor. One output for fast speed and one for slow speed. You will approach and stop to the target position in slow speed. Totaly you need 4 outputs for axis. It would be better to use frequence controller for AC motor control. Then you need analog output (+/ - 0.10V type 6ES7 332-5HD01-0AB0) to control frequence controller in the closed loop with encoder position. Regards LXG
