What is exactly on the eprom of a CP module

karolewsky Posts: 26 Rating: (0)	Hi all, Could anyone tell me if what is on eprom cards of CPs is a program directly from the manufacture, or is there maybe a program that is written by software programmers. I'm in the middle of backing up software from PLCs and I upload it from CPU only. I wonder if I also have to upload something from eprom cards of CP modules. I tried to go online with the CP but couldn't connect.I have only expierience with S7 but there situation is more clear, I have HW config and SFB blocks. Here on S5 there is no HW config and I wonder how the CPU knows there is a CP, and sends frames with others CPUs.. Thanks in advance for your help. Greetings.

karolewsky Posts: 26 Rating: (0)	Hi Steve, I'm trying to read: - CP5430 (6GK1543-0AA02) - CP524 (6ES5524-3UA13) The first is communicating with 95U(connected directly to CPU of the 95U) and the other with a weighing system. Best regards Karol

playerslight Posts: 1064 Rating: (72)	the cp 524 is a serial interface and you require com525 to read the eprom and to program it as fot the cp543 i believe it is a profibus interface but thats all i know about it
